Kerri would always say “Wynnie, to get better you need to do more! You need to lift and work on more form.” But as a teenager, I thought just going to practice was good enough for me.
It wasn’t until college when I learned that your training doesn’t just stop once you leave practice. How you eat, how you train, and what you are thinking mentally has EVERYTHING to do with your training. Dedicated Fitness taught me all of this! As a track athlete, I ran, I lifted, and I ate healthy during the season. Kerri taught me about having a positive attitude.
With all of these attributes put together, I placed 4th at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships during my indoor and outdoor seasons, taking more than 4 seconds off of my high school time in the 400m dash! I also hold the record for the 2nd fastest time in Lock Haven University history for the women’s 400 meter dash. My training at Dedicated Fitness included cross training, running form, Olympic lifts, and how to keep a positive attitude! My goal as a college alumnus is to advocate to young athletes that training is important even AFTER your practice is over and to always have fun!!"
