Today was FANTASTIC! The Bomber Football Boys had a great practice today! They have already improved their strength, foot speed and reaction time in only a few weeks! More importantly they are training as a team, and they look so much more confident and enthusiastic about their conditioning!
Coach Wynnie worked with our grade 9-college group at 7am this morning on running! Followed by crosstrain conditioning at 9!
Then.... We had our Sports Conditioning Camp! 32 athletes k-8! The junior high athletes trained strength today and the younger group trained speed and agility! We talked about nutrition, goal setting and the power of having a positive attitude!
This afternoon I took the grade 9-college athletes out for agility and plyometrics, followed by 5pm crosstrain!
It was a great day for our athletes!
Tomorrow we start with 9-college strength training...
Then the Bomber Basketball athletes come in from 8-9:30, followed by k-8 athlete camp from 10-12 (speed and agility 7&8, conditioning k-6)...
The bomber Soccer athletes will train from 4-5:30, grade 9-College weightlifting at 5, and the bomber field hockey athletes will also condition from 6:30-8pm!!!
IT IS GOING TO BE A GREAT DAY!!!
Looking forward to it!
Letter written by Kelsey Hay to show that hard work, along with Dedicated Fitness, pays off!
"I’ve been told all my life that hard work pays off. This statement has been proven especially true for me ever since I started training at Dedicated Fitness. This past summer, I worked with Kerri and her team for multiple hours a week in Speed and Agility, Strength, and Crosstrain classes in order to prepare myself for my upcoming sophomore track and field season at the University of Pennsylvania. That summer, I worked harder than I’d ever worked in my life, keeping in mind my goals of breaking Penn’s javelin school record and making it back to D-1 NCAA Regionals. Sure, it was hot out every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 4:00 during that summer when the pool and air conditioner was calling my name. And sure, there were those Tuesdays and Thursdays that I didn’t want to roll out of bed at 7:00 AM to lift weights to start off my morning. Kerri and her team, however, made all of these workouts worthwhile. With positive encouragement every step of the way, I started to look forward to these early mornings because it meant that I could reach my new max in the deadlift, and I started to embrace the heat while I wove through cones in the Speed and Agility class because my sweat was a sign of my hard work. I went back to UPenn after that summer, knowing that I had out-trained every single one of my teammates, and all of my Ivy League competition. My training at Dedicated Fitness paid off in the weight room that Fall at Penn, where all of my maxes from freshman year were shattered. Even more importantly, my training manifested itself in my javelin throws this Spring, where I broke not only UPenn’s school record with a throw of 164’-1”, but also the Ivy League javelin record, won 1st place in javelin at Ivy League Championships, qualified for NCAA Regionals, and qualified for D-1 NCAA Nationals with a rank of #20 in the country. I can say without a doubt in my mind that I would not be where I am today without my summer training at Dedicated Fitness. Not only did Kerri and her team provide me with the training I needed to excel in my sport, they also instilled in me a positive mindset that has helped me overcome all of the ups and downs of being a competitor at the Division 1 level. I know that hard work does pay off, especially if that hard work is done with Kerri and the Dedicated Fitness team, whose summer program impacted my athletic career in such a positive way!"
